Manzanita is a gnarly, twisted shrub that grows on the west coast of North America (the temperate regions, not the top bit where the air hurts your face most of the time) and as such there is never much usable wood to be had. This piece is cut from a root ball that was unearthed during clean up following the California fires. Naturally bright, bright red this wood is really something special and being just a little corny I thought it would make a beautiful heart. All natural finish, no stains or dyes.
